Longtime user. It’s just perfect for me and there is nothing else like it.
Unlike several leading todo apps, users are forced to set up an account even to explore the app. That’s a major concern and an invasive requirement. I do not want my personal, private information synced to a 3rd party server. Developers: Let us explore your app WITHOUT having to set up an account. Give us an option later of synching, locally or via iCloud if we chose to—and even to skip your servers! Respect our privacy — and let us try your app without an account; that is, to test the waters first!
Crappy app that doesn’t do anything
The only thing that I don’t like is you have to make your own checklist every morning but it is completely free and I highly recommend it
Doesn't perform like a reminder
I’ve been using the App Store since its inception- maybe posted 3 reviews. This will be four. As for the app? It functions as intended, no better or worse than others in the App Store. I moved to RTM from Todo which worked great but was clunky for simple tasks. After using remember the milk for a few days I paid for a subscription and went pro. A year later they sent me an email staying the price went up 25% and it was time to upgrade because my subscription expires today. Great customer service- send an expiration reminder on the day the subscription expires. The pro features were shut off before I could even get to my desk at work and copy my subtasks over to the notes area. Typical cash grab apps. They give you subpar features just a bit better than the free apps online and constantly raise fees. I’ll go back to TODO and enjoy the app I only had to pay for one time.
He make me do lots of chores
This is a great product. I’ve used it for years. However, I am now flabbergasted that I have to pay for a Pro upgrade to get reminders on my phone. The phone app is kind of pointless without those. I’ll be looking for another reminders app.
12 years ago we started asking for 2FA support and here we are in 2024 with no support for 2FA, MFA, or passkeys.
I rediscovered this app recently and it has been so helpful in my self-employed business. It’s very intuitive and I love all the different features such as recurring meetings, adding reminders, etc. Keep up the great work, RTM Team!
I love this app! I use it to stay organized with everything. I use it for household chores, shopping, errands, and home maintenance reminders. I'm also an avid gardener and it's helped me to better organize the research I need to do before selecting plants. Using the tag system, I can designate individual traits (like sun, water, and soil needs) to each plant which I then can quickly match to one of my plant beds. I then use it to track maintenance, watering, and fertilizer to-do's. But most importantly, this app has really helped the communication between my husband and me. My husband has an "exploded diagram" view towards household chores on the verge of being a hoarder. He just doesn't "get" cleaning or the concept of "tidy". Or in other words, he has no idea which chores should have a higher priority or where to start or even what to do or how often to do it. RTM helps me break down bigger tasks into smaller tasks which I then prioritize for him. For example, if I need him to clean the kitchen, he knows there's a task on RTM that says, "kitchen" and sub-tasks that say, "clean the sink, the stove, the microwave, the floor, etc." (OK, so I'm still the one cleaning the kitchen, but you get the point.) Same thing with errands. On the "Shopping" list I have individual tags for specific stores. I have a grocery store tag and I add items we need to it throughout the week. I then have a second list called "Errands." He looks at the errands list, sees "grocery store" then he goes to the tag for the grocery store and sees exactly what groceries we need. It's great! Same with home maintenance. Who remembers that they have to change their furnace filter or clean their dryer vents and other boring home chores? Now we put stuff like that it on the list. It's really taken a lot of frustration out of our marriage. And don't get me started on office to-do's! Thanks Remember The Milk!
I was hoping the alerts were persistent like an alarm you can snooze. I paid for a year of Pro and so far I’m not really impressed. The simplest thing is missing that would make my experience a lot better…at least give the option to add new items to the TOP of the list. I hate adding new things and then editing to slide them all up. I still have over 300 days on the subscription. We’ll see.
I’ve been using this app since I got my first iPhone and it is how I keep my entire life organized. There are so many ways to keep track but not TOO many. I love how the creators decided not to try to be all things to all people and just stayed focused on being the best at lists.
I was enjoying RTM as a very simple to do list app, but it has a key flaw: the app basically falls apart if you move time zones. I went on vacation 3 hrs over and all of my reminders became jumbled and unusable. Feels like a pretty major oversight on the RTM team to not offer any functionality around this.
App sync between devices is super fast!
I've used Remember The Milk since 2007, and their iOS app has been my favorite way to manage my tasks and stay on top of everything. Smart Lists are my favorite because I can see just what I want to do, but I also love the subtasks, attachments, drag and drop ordering, multi-edit, and quick navigation through the app. The Evernote integration is handy also.
Love this app! I’ve been using it for many years and it has kept all my tasks at my fingertips. I would like to ask the developers to fix the issue with time zone changes. When I travel, my tasks become yesterday even though it’s the same day I just changed time zones. When I add a task while in another time zone it shows up out of order when I get home.
I used to always keep all my tasks in my head witch made me very stressed out, but I keep everything on here and I’m able to schedule stuf months and even years out I love this app
Disappointed to get the whole family to download then find out you can’t share lists on the app, nor share them with more than two people unless you buy the upgrade. $40/year without the option to pay it monthly :c Please do some updates to AT LEAST pay for a monthly option at less than $5 a month!
I have been using this app for about 10 years. However, all of my lists and information have disappeared. What happened?
I have ADHD and this app allows me to take my to-do list with me, break larger tasks into smaller tasks (pro is worth it just for this feature!) and provides a little dopamine boost when you’ve completed the list for the day! (Love the milk carton) You can minimize what is on the screen or break it down to what your needs are. In addition, their support team is outstanding and was emailing with me at almost 10pm ET to make sure the issue was resolved. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this app! THANK YOU!
This is a very efficient task list system once you find and learn all the functions. There are lots different ways to accomplish the same organizing step. You can find the best organizing process for yourself rather than being locked into a rigid process. The smart lists are perfect - the ability to track tasks from multiple perspectives is very important for me, so those are the most useful feature for me. It definitely takes some experimenting and time to learn the interface, but like I said, once learned it makes perfect sense and is very efficient. Very smart design. I can’t imagine going back to any other system.
I used this app over 10 years ago to coordinate to do lists with my assistant. Best app at that time! We’ve moved to other higher end list apps, plus “remember the milk” isn’t the most professional name in a business environment. RTM just popped into my head today and when I searched it, thrilled to see it’s still here and as highly rated as ever! A wonderful productivity app.
I’ve tried and use several task and project managers in conjunction with my various companies, Wrike, Teamwork, Trello, Basecamp, etc. We’ve also used high end CRM applications. I can honestly say RTM is the very best, simple yet powerful, fantastic GUI, manages all my work, my companies, and my life. My go to for reminders, for lightweight project management, and to manage my life. Works great on a desktop, even better on the iPad with the pencil, long press on tasks to change priority, date, tags, lists, etc. This is a “Gillette” situation, I liked it so much I tried to buy the company but it’s apparently run by a group of techies from around the world that like doing this. It’s apparent they do, works great, not commercialized, and not continually dis-improved to an over complex mess. This app can’t be beat and it doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
This is THE best app, especially for supporting GTD. It sync's great, catetories, subtasks, tagging all help trememdously with organizing. I have one tiny complaint. On the desktop app - when you add a task - you need to hit the "DONE" button, which feels SO WRONG, because the task is not done. Everytime I click this, I cringe and think of the developer that implemented this without thinking of the user. RTM uses the term COMPLETE when something is done, but still... DONE?? Please don't replace it with a checkbox either. Maybe SAVE would be a good choice instead.
I have been a RTM Pro subscriber since 2009. It has only gotten better, more powerful, more, reliable, and more useful in that time. What I love the most is that it hasn’t gotten overly complicated in the process. It still stretches from simple todo list app to backlog project management without losing what at the core are some really good ideas. There is a lot of research on how much space in your brain is used up trying to remember things you need to not forget. Being able to capture those things somewhere that is reliable and will pop them back up when they are important is what lets your brain release them and use its energy for something else. RTM’s elegant capture of tasks literally gives you your brainpower back! 🧠 Worth every penny!
I did not realize when buying this app to help me remember daily tasks that I would have to spend money to get notifications to help remind me to do those tasks. Completely defeats the whole purpose of getting the app. I recommend just using the reminders app on your iphone if you need notifications and can’t afford to pay extra for that feature.
I love this app! My review is for both the desktop as well as the app version. I was looking for an ideal thing to meet my needs, and remember the milk came along. I actually use it for my to do list and as a goal planner. It’s functionality is neat and you can sort everything into categories (under lists). Whereas I dislike a lot of other list and goal apps where they make it so difficult to do anything and even charge for creating a goal. 😡 For this app, if you want subtasks, you have to pay, but you can just separate things by spaces and commas. Everything that you write on the desktop version is immediately updated on the phone app version.
It just doesn’t work well enough to remind you. Can’t figure out the settings. For example if you get a reminder and are on the phone or busy where you can’t get to the reminder. It doesn’t stay on your main screen, to keep reminding you. With the iPhone you have to open it and swipe down to look at reminders etc. and guess what. I forget to swipe down. If I don’t see it continuously then I forget to check the reminder. I need a better app than this.
This app only works if you remember to check it. Not a great app to use if you are struggling with memory in the first place. Wish there was a way for it to send notifications
This might not have been the purpose of this app, but if you struggle with ADHD I wouldn’t recommend RTM for daily task management. There’s way too much going on, it’s not very streamlined, and overall frustrating to use. Doesn’t do any better than the Apple Reminders app.
I’m a student and I really enjoy using the app and have it synced to my laptop for both school work and personal reminders!! I love how it’s easy to make separate lists and combine them altogether because it helps me prioritize properly. My only grief is that it doesn’t send a banner notification through the app on phone, because I don’t want a text or email. Altogether tho, super helpful!!
You see that a certificate on your back end expedited 12 minutes ago? Just got a popup error, using this as the back end for iPhone based to-dos.
It’s a bit annoying to set up (can’t be set up entirely from phone, you have to use desktop for the features that you want) and I wish having a reminder was the default setting with an option to turn off. I spent hours putting in my gardening and summer chore plans and none of them notify me at all because I didn’t manually add and set a reminder which takes extra time on top of the already time consuming task of making the item. Plus you have to use a desktop to enable reminders. So far apple reminders has been more functional for me but they are too easily dismissed. Not sure if I’ll use this app going forward, pretty disappointed in it. The user interface is also very clunky looking. Between the annoying way to have to input everything, the annoying way you have to set reminders and basically the annoying way you have to do everything on this app makes it not worth it to me. Plus they clearly take your data. They should be paying you for your data.
I love this app! It’s very hard for me to keep track of my life & I always seem to find myself very disorganized but RTM definitely is worth working with. It’s definitely perfect for someone like me!
Very confusing and not worth my time. Easier to share a note with my wife witch we can both edit in real time.
For some reason, I’m getting a ton of emails with my to-do list reminders. I have probably gotten at least 20 today. I used to get multiple emails… maybe 2 a day. I just figured that was a glitch. Now it’s a lot more. I don’t mean to complain. I just wanted the app developer to be aware so it can be fixed. Thanks. Otherwise, it’s a great app!
Recently I contacted the developer to ask a question (I am not a geek) and he was wonderfully helpful. Also, using the voice prompt for adding something has never failed to work - even with very unusual or complicated words. Very impressive.
I have enjoyed using this app. However in this day and age encryption and security is so important. Please add end to end encryption to app contents. That would be much appreciated. 🙏
A new iPad and I thought to invest in some new apps for it. What better than a To Do List app? After some research I selected RTM, the Pro version because I wanted sub task functionality. It was not intuitive to navigate the UI at first, but I followed some tutorials and got up and running. I shared a task with a family member; it also had a sub task to purchase a new lunch box for our son. She received the task, but was informed that she needed to purchase the Pro version, at $39.99 to view the sub task. So much for Family Sharing. Very limited functionality if I have to purchase 4 subscriptions for my family. A deal breaker. Buyer beware.
I’m pretty tech capable. But this thing is annoying to use. Overly complicated. Just trying to delete a task requires consulting the FAQ page. Ridiculous.
I've been using this app for years, probably since 2010. I've tried other apps, and nothing works as well as this one! I love the ability to set repeating tasks, to set priorities, and to create my own lists. It's simple, never glitchy, and easy to use. It's great for managing my life!! I can't rave about this app enough. Plus, the support team is so helpful and nice! Always go to them before writing a bad review because I've found it's usually user error (aka me making a mistake in the app haha) versus anything wrong on their part.
This is a fabulous app that makes it fun and easy to collect recipes. You can take screen shots, use images from your photos, and/or enter info using your keyboard. I love it!
This is a game changer. The non premium version is enough for me. It’s really helping me keep my housework order. I love getting the daily recap email and texts and text reminder. You can check off items as you go. It’s the best honestly! I’m so happy!
I use this convenient tool daily to help me in my battle with short term memory loss, (made more difficult by my multiple sclerosis and advancing age!). Thanks to RTM, I am a more efficient and more reliable shopper, and I also manage my other to do lists better!
It doesn’t make sense to me how you can have an app to help you organize your to do lists, but not be able to organize it automatically by the time you need to do it. It’s also super annoying to set the time something needs to be done if you’re setting it at the same hour it currently is. For example, I set a task for today, last night at 11 pm. I wanted to do the task today at 11:15 am, but in order to set the time I had to first set it to 12, save it, and then go back and set it for 11:15. Utterly baffling and incredibly frustrating. I’ll keep using the app in the meantime but will keep looking around for something better.
I’m now transferring everything to RTM! Couldn’t be happier! This is my 500th calendar/task app. Well maybe not, but I’ve tried them all. Way to go RPM!
Title pretty much says it all. I thought I could live with it and it got pretty frustrating pretty fast as you can imagine, that’s not an efficient way to be productive.
I have used RTM for years now, off and on. I have recently committed myself to using it as my sole task management system. Its ease of use, its interface, and its intuitiveness make it a resourceful app for any number of users. Whether you use GTD or not, this app can definitely help you capture and organize your tasks and make you more productive.
