Update? Not so much

Much heralded update.... Not so much, looks like design lessons have not been learnt. Split screen annoying, no smart task add, if you try to schedule a task you cant get out of that selection option... At least allow us to pick the default view on startup.... Sad to see the once great RTM continue to make poor decisions.

Long anticipated; worth the wait

Ive been aware these changes were coming for a long time, and Ive been eagerly anticipating them. Its only been a day or so since the new app came out, but so far I can say its worth the wait. The biggest new feature has got to be subtasks. If you use RTM for GTD, the ability to have subtasks lets you do projects in a more canonical way. The new user interface on iOS seems familiar but is significantly more powerful. This is solid work and a major update; it shows why if you want good software that’s maintained and upgraded a subscription pricing model is totally reasonable. I use this app every day and have for several years and I dont see that stopping anytime soon.

New update

Ive used this app for a long time to keep track of monthly bills. I depend on the ability to see the "finished" list. Why was this option taken away on the update?? Normally Im able to see the completed items and "uncomplete" them each month so I can start over. Please bring that capability back.

Great app for a great service!

App is very intuitive and supports the service very well! Love the new app!

OMG! What happened? Notes data fouled up

I use this app constantly throughout the day, every day. I previously loved this app. However, todays update caused all Notes for a task to be updated with the todays first access time/date ( all are now 11:38). This resulted in a complete scrambling of all my notes, which were previously sorted reverse chronologically. I rely heavily on the date sort for notes and now I am completely scr*wed (pardon the language). I literally have hundreds of notes on my most used tasks, now requiring me to page through to find the most relevant. This is just unusable. The new interface is visually appealing but the update completely fouled up my ability to use my data.

Used to be my most-used app

This app used to be great! Now with the update, it doesnt look as good and is harder to use. Even worse, it suddenly brought all my completed tasks from the last 2 years and put them as incomplete due today! I dont have time to go through and delete thousands of tasks. I may just need to find a new app. Bummer! It was so great before!

Works great!

Great on my phone and laptop. I like going back and forth between the two. I am more organized and productive.

Super impressed with the new updated app!

Ive had a few days working with this and am happy to report that the new app is awesome - sub-tasks alone transform the app into a project management tool. Please send Bob a few more bananas!

Frustrated with update

I should have known better than to update this app. I loved the old RTM. My husband complained that they never did any updates, but that was actually a plus for me because I knew it would be reliable and not mess up my system. Maybe Im missing something but the advertised "drag and drop" isnt even working for me. When I organize by day, tasks arent by priority within each day. Weird. Random tasks from the past have shown up and Im not able to select and delete multiple items. I dont love the new look/feel but thats probably something I can adjust to.

Update not so good for phone app

Ive been a loyal rtm pro user for years. I liked using the beta on my PC once I got used to the awkward split screen because of the sub tasks . I just tried the update on my phone and was excited to finally get sub tasks there. BUT The app is almost unusable. 1. Theres no way to bulk select and delete. I have over 400 tasks that I frequently prune! 2. Too much, its cluttered and harder to read, too much movement. Almost every action takes more touches now. 3. I use the inbox as one of my lists but it doesnt appear in the list section view. Really?!?! Now I have to scroll three screens up just to switch lists or do 3 touches if I keep the cleaner condensed view

Nightmare

The update is a complete mess. It synced my data back to last spring, so there are dozens of tasks for one task when there should be just one. I had over 1000 tasks due after it synced. It wont prioritize by date even when its selected, the dates and priorities listed are like somebody threw them up in the air to see where they would land. Ive loved this app for years but it will take HOURS to straighten this out and it just might be easier to start over with a different app.

New Widget doesnt work.

Having been a Pro user of this app for several years, and frustrated that it didnt easily support projects, I moved my projects to Things. Am ready to move back now that subtasks have arrived. However, got off to a poor start. Added the new iOS Widget to my phones Notifications. It isnt working. Continues to say "Unable to load." All the other widgets I use (including Things) are working fine. Please fix before Ill consider moving back.

Update gone bad

These guys took a useable and helpful app and made a mess of it. In transitioning to the new platform I suddenly had over 2000 tasks in my current task list with many duplicates and no way to delete them other than one at a time. The old app allowed me to look at 7 individual days whereas the new app showers today, tomorrow, and this week. Its basically a copy of some other app platforms I looked at. Fed up and deleted it in favor of GTask which is much more user friendly.

Love the update

Ive used this app for years. Love the update! Took a few days to get comfortable with it but it is definitely improved in a number of ways.

OMG Who moved my cheese

Golly, talk about a giant leap for regression of RTM lovers. I feel just plain dumb with this upgrade (if thats what we must call it. Trying to edit a text entry with the teeny tiny text on IOS is impossible. Click, click delete, confirm delete, huh? Anybody remember click hold delete? RTM for IOS has definitely gotten harder to use; so much so, I may have to find another way.

Excellent Update

I have been a remember the milk pro user for years. Have greatly anticipated this update to bring sub-tasks etc. to the iPhone. Everything is working perfectly with my set up.

A year later, simply indispensable!

Great update, really enjoy the new features and UI. Ive been using RTM for many years and once you get a system down, this will become a major part of your life. The smart lists and the endless customization potential are a big part of the RTM experience. They keep it simple and easy to use -- like Google does Gmail.

Great update, Im not sure why all the negative reviews.

The issues in the reviews seem to be around the dates in notes. Too bad, because I think the rest of it is great. I dont really use it that way. The rest of it is fantastic, I was beginning to wonder if they just forgot about this program and werent updating it. It looks better, functions better, and the touch ID stuff is very slick. It doesnt appear the drag-and-drop stuff seems to work in the iOS part of the program but it does work just fine on the web based peace. Ive been using it for about a week now and I have not had any issues at all.

The new version is even better

I use it all the time. All day, every day. Syncs with the Web app and the new Mac OSX app. System feels very solid and reliable, unlike other task management apps Ive tried.

(mostly) love the update

Ive been a RTM pro user for a long time and Ive been using the beta web version for quite a while now, and Im really glad to see the iOS version finally get updated. Ive had no problems or trouble using the new version, and the only thing I dont like is not having font and font size options.
